Identity is not only based on the external view, but also on what is inside and what lies behind it. But it is very difficult to see the inside. Through ‘cracks’ and ‘holes’, these sculptures offer glimpses of the hidden realm, a preview of the inside that can be illuminated by the battery lamps supplied with each sculpture.
By enabling such inner discovery, these sculptures symbolize soul-search, introspection.
